When surveying properties with meter banks, make sure to get pictures of the entire meter bank, but also get close up of customers meter AND breaker in the same photo. Main breakers can be different depending on each unit. See photo example.
***ALSO*** Make sure you are looking for the busbar rating for that specific meter bank. See Example. You should ALWAYS be looking for the “Max Amp” or “Busbar” rating on any electrical panel. There will be multiple busbars in a meter bank sometimes. Especially on Condos
A Duplex is a structure with 2 units that are side by side under 1 roof and there are 2 utility meters.
A single family home has 1 unit, under 1 roof, with 1 utility meter for electricity.
A MultiFamily is a structure with 2+ units that are vertically stacked one on top of the other under 1 roof and there are 2+ utility meters.
A Condo/Townhouse is connected to other homes on both sides and on all levels (with the exception of an end unit, which would only be connected on one side).
There is one designated meter and one designated portion of the roof associated with that townhome/condo.
